So much action happens in the game what with players racing from one end of the ice rink to the other, stopping on a dime, changing directions, fights, and goals all of this on a thin piece of sharp metal.

Bethel Drive in Eugene, Oregon has become my favorite train spotting location; it is a two lane asphalt roadway one mile in length flooded with power poles and running parallel to Union Pacific’s rail yard; on the other side of the tracks (no pun intended) civilian living.   I will intentionally go out of my way… Continue reading Acquaintances

Goodbye 2015 you warped and frustration old year!

In January, myself and business associate are still hunting for retail space to move our pipe shop into after three plus years in one location. Deja vu!  Flash back to 2003 Minnesota trailing in the playoff series against Patrick Roy and the Avalanche 3 games to 1 storm back and knock out Colorado and Mr. Roy.  Patrick retires from the game.  Fast forward to 2014 with Roy now behind the bench and facing Minnesota again and what ya know the Wild did it… Continue reading Wow Roy! Early summer vacation for the Redwings as we all look forward to a 24th consecutive appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  ???  The team played hard but, to me, something was missing.  Wait a minute,  an epiphany I just had!    The Michigan Wolverines of college football fame (with a similar circumstance) visited Pasadena, California (my favorite city… Continue reading A Short Second Season, Detroit goes Home

The downside of internet radio is that once the game is over the broadcast is cutoff so the adrenaline built up is suddenly left hanging.  talk about kicking the stool out out under your feet.  It is ok we won and now just three more to go!!!
