A Touch of Color

A bit of color goes a long way and in these five photographs I added what I felt to be just enough for the subjects to stand out. Photographed near the college town of Eugene, Oregon and out on the Oregon Coast at Coos Bay my objective was to come away with interesting images, colorizing… Continue reading A Touch of Color

So much action happens in the game what with players racing from one end of the ice rink to the other, stopping on a dime, changing directions, fights, and goals all of this on a thin piece of sharp metal.

A Drain Revisit

Looking northwest, Steam train passes over trestle in lower left corner, covered bridge obscured by smoke.

Vanished Line

With some free time one Thursday last December, 2019 I pack the camera and drive the Scion to no planned destination ending up along Main St., Springfield, Oregon. Traveling through the downtown core looking for photographic opportunities a causal glance into an open yet, fenced-in, area I observe a grand object rare to the West… Continue reading Vanished Line

Disconnection Nervousness

A kenneled yellow/white furred dog sitting attentively, ears erect, eyes forward catches my attention, “What’s the background on this dog here he appears well mannered, easy going not vying for attention.”

Encounter of the First Kind

Driving back-roads of Florence, Oregon an object in an open, yet fenced-in area catches my attention. Parking the Scion nearby I go in for a closer look discovering at the foot of a hill and tree line a scoreboard rusting from Pacific Northwest weather and salted ocean air, in faded, black words FLORENCE KIWANiS, no… Continue reading Encounter of the First Kind

Oddly Placed

About one mile north of Albany, Oregon off exit 235 from Interstate 5 stands an unusual figure one I was surprised to see no flags flying given the current heady times we are in. As I drive throughout the Willamette Valley my photographic eye wanders about and occasionally spots a scene to record such was… Continue reading Oddly Placed

Landmark Murder

In 1862 a few miles east of where I snapped these pictures today a murder took place, the body found in a creek. There were two parties involved A and B, B killing A for his money and girl. Apparently, A had worked hard saved up about $500, a great sum in 1862 dollars, and… Continue reading Landmark Murder

While out and about today…

Leaburg, Oregon. Get off the highway, relax in this one-room motetl no amenities, one low rate, and surrounded by acres and acres and acres of wooded land.

Parked at Alton Baker Park in Eugene, Oregon I was caught in a downpour not unusual for the Pacific Northwest moments later the rain subsided and from the warm, dry, comfort of inside my Camry a look produced these two photographs. The angles of each car, the foreground, and the dark tree line just sang… Continue reading Radom Pictures
