the movement of commerce by steel rail, not to mention that passage of peoples from region to region, has fascinated me since i felt the first big drive wheels pounding along the ground outside my grandmother’s home in northern michigan. whether the engine and cars sit idle (inhaling/exhaling mechanical life) waiting for the all clear, gather rust and dust until next assignment or moving stock around building the long line of freight cars in preparation for the long haul finding the right composition through the viewfinder of my camera well, a world onto it’s own. some love playing music for the masses, building and launching model rockets, or jogging but the ability to find something out of nothing is worth the many footsteps, literally needed to get there.
