The other day at work, around 6pm just as the sun began it’s decent towards the western horizon and temperature reached about 100 degrees something in air:
cars gleaming in the sunshine precede one by one through the zen tunnel of wash
out the other end pretty and proud
now silence except wind whipped trees
pensive eye shoreline breeze
waves crash, constant roar
nothing here to bore
toes deep in sand
cold beverages at hand
once the badge of honor branded red
can’t sleep in bed
age brings attention
and an once of prevention
today beverages sipped from safety of balcony above
for now nothing to prove
toes in sand reserved for walks
along the beach and crashing waves the talk
lookup and you’ll see soon
a bright orb, the moon
the ultimate beach
may again be in reach
plenty sunshine
no crowds
how sublime
