pot of gold?

Friday afternoon, 330pm pst Smokey Joe joes kingdom and I are out for an evening walk.  Passing through the gate and into the park warming sun shine basks us both  promising a long, pleasant walk  however, a quick glance westward revealed dark clouds trailing to the ground which means only one thing, rain!  Great wouldn’t you know it after being indoors all afternoon the one time to get out and stretch the old props, rain.  Ok, well this is no problem the long walk has now been shorted but Smokey Joe don’t care just as long as he gets out into the scents of his world.

We round the far east end of the park, which is three-quarters of a mile in length, and the first drops of moisture hit home so I pick up the pace but still give Smokey Joe opportunities to let neighborhood dogs know of his presence.  Fortunately, there is a school close to the park and I decide to head towards it as now the rain has converted to pea-size hail and we make cover just at climax. As I mentioned, Joe don’t care and wants to press on but a slight tug on the lease and he stands down.

A few minutes pass by both of us in our own worlds; what would it be like to get in a dog’s head for one day just to see what they bark at, eh?  The hail subsides down to a trickle and we continue the walk and as we do a look northward and to my surprise a full rainbow, not one of those looks like, I hate to say it, the golden arches but a broader arche mimicing the curvature of the earth, closer to the ground starting in my neighborhood and ending up atop a Costco warehouse.  Staring for a moment I wondered if there was anything to this but that moment was quickly halted by a sharp tug on the leash as Smokey Joe didn’t care about rainbows and pots of gold for there are more scents to cover!

I enjoy photography, writing, walking, nature, reading, and of course the coooolest game on earth HOCKEY! I took up photography in 9th grade and seeing the world in a different light wanting to, of course, photograph everything, unfortunately not everything comes out the way I'd like.
