Well, it is that time of the year when those of us that enjoy digging into the earth put on the dungarees, clean off the pruners, shears, lawnmower and head to the great outdoors to remove dead branches, weeds, and, depending on the area, moss! All of this to make the yard and house beautiful satisfying the soul. Today, I pulled out some decorative grass in the front yard by the porch that has worn out its welcome putting in place a Hosa plant, moving some of the grass to a corner of the backyard as filler, and removed some of the lawn near bushes in the front yard halting the slow encroaching and any possible take over. Aside from some minor moss removal throughout the front, side, and backyards this is the extent of work for today earning me two cold ones some fortifying chili and tortillas then a walk in the late afternoon sunshine with pug Smokey Joe and along our walk took in some of nature’s finest of the day. Arriving back home kicked off the shoes took off Smokey Joes harness and he retreating to his spot on top of the couch and me on it to watch a hockey game between the Ottawa Senators and The NY Rangers which neither our my team but I still enjoyed the physical game.
